It was an exciting light bulb moment as a client’s leadership team realized how much they were stuck in ‘what was’ instead of ‘what could be.’
For this client in a service industry, this common decision making blind spot meant that decisions were made based on assumptions of the past. Discussions were largely rooted in what’s been done before, without considering new ways of thinking about the problems they faced.
To their credit, they were open to exploring how to do things differently or I would not have been in the room in the first place.
With a revised priority on gathering real information about the present (versus using assumptions from the past), they are looking at their 2020 plans in a different way. The new path will expand services, raise sales, and provide more opportunities for their teams. So excited for what lies ahead for this smart group of leaders and their company.
