It’s amazing how you think you know someone you are working with… only to discover they are plotting to make changes in their life.  Sounds like corporateAmerica, right?  Actually, it’s a reality of business.

It doesn’t really matter how you feel about the change or even what the change is.  The fact is, whatever change is happening will happen regardless of you, your investment in that person, the company and what you think is right.  Each of us have our own lives to lead… and businesses to run… and careers to manage… so whatever is happening by the choice of others is theirs to make.

Sometimes, it isn’t what you want to hear. Or to realize.  Or to act upon.  Or to be impacted by.  The last one is usually the one that bothers people the most.  It’s the part that creates the fear, uncertainty, hurt, disappointment and anger.

I witnessed a change recently with a company I’m working with.  One of the leaders chose to leave and pursue another opportunity.  What’s the outcome you ask?  Determination.

This group is even more determined to support each other.  The change created a more bonded team, a deeper understanding of goals to pursue, and a willingness to help each other achieve them.

It’s thrilling to watch, and even more exciting to work with this group.  Hmmmm… so sometimes change is good?  Absolutely.
